Well, some of you might remember a while back when Cody wanted to move the forum somewhere else...

as far as I know, you still own the domain "baptist1611.com" right?

I can host the domain... and install some new forum software (vbulletin, or whatever you preferred) and set it all up for you (I don't want to be moderator, but I can help with tech stuff). It will pretty much be permanent, and at the least, will be able to be backed up

Unfortunately, the old phpbb3now forum is not back-upable. So everything on that forum is lost if we move. But it looks like it isn't coming back...

Some of the features that you could offer on my hosting are

    - Whatever forum software you prefer
    - Attachments in posts
    - Photo gallery's
    - customised profiles

    All kinds of things.

Let me know if you want to do it.

Vbulletin is also not free to use..

It is probably the best, but it costs money to purchase

it is $180 USD to purchase a full license.

I don't think it is worth it myself..

There are good free bulletin boards out there.

Hey Brother Luke, the next time you're on can you get on msn messenger so we can talk about this. I still have Baptist1611.com the website, not just the domain name, but a side editor, etc.

When I realised the forum was in dire straits, the first person I thought of who could possibly help with the hosting was you Bro Luke. Good man!

    Sounds great, Bro. Luke!

I had a feeling we'd lose everything on the old board. It's not necessarily a bad thing to start from scratch, esp. if we can still access board #1 for the archives.

This sounds promising. I'm no expert, but as you brothers talk, don't rule out Vbulletin. I think, as I've said elsewhere, that the $180 is doable, and would be worth it. But it's up to the Lord!

Thank you for your help, Luke!
